The subscriptions and payments themselves are handled by Paddle.

Proration

All changes to your subscription are prorated. This includes:

  • Changing from one plan to another
  • Registering a new rental unit
  • Deleting a rental unit
  • Registering a new website
  • Deleting a website

When you change your subscription in such a way that the price decreases, the price difference will be subtracted from your next bill.

Example 1

Situation:

  • You are on a $30 yearly plan, and you're billed on the 1st of every year.
  • You execute a plan change half way through the billing cycle (in this case, mid-year).
  • You have already paid $30 and used half of that (because you're in the middle of the year).
  • You switch to a new plan priced at $60.

Result:

  • The unused portion of the current billing cycle is applied as a credit: $30 x (6 months used / 12 months total) = $15.
  • The cost of the new plan for the remaining billing cycle (the outstanding 6 months) is a debit of $60 x (6 months remaining / 12 months total) = $30.
  • The final prorated cost of switching to the new plan is $15.

Example 2

Situation:

  • You are on a $60 yearly plan, and you're billed on the 1st of every year.
  • You change your plan 3 months into the billing cycle.
  • You have already paid $60 and used 3/12th of that (=$15).
  • You switch to a new plan priced at $30 per year.

Result:

  • The cost of the new plan for the remainder of the billing cycle (the outstanding 9 months) is $30 x 9/12 = $22,50.
  • The total price for the current period will be $37,50.
  • You have paid $60 - $37,50 = $22,50 too much for this billing cycle.
  • This $22,50 will be subtracted from your next bill.
  • Therefor, the next billing cycle will cost you only $30 - $22,50 = $7,50 instead of $30.
